Edinburgh Silver or Gold Award,� with a maritime focus
for the skills,
service, sport and expedition components of the
award:

Skills - Marine Expedition Training will
include:
. food planning and logistics
. group facilitation and situational leadership
. remote area first aid and emergency
preparedness
. paddling, rowing and sailing skills
. rope work and knot tying
. fishing and snorkelling
. camping, fire skills and cooking
. weather and tide interpretation
. marine navigation including night sailing
. communications, logbooks and reporting
. includes presentation of information sessions to
peers
. reports on skill development in chosen areas

Sports - Fitness and Mastery in expedition
vessels may include competition

. several 3-6 day research expeditions are generally
required
. preparation and planning for the qualifying
expedition

candidates
